Frontier Alaska Soda is proudly owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Alyssa and David McCarthy, whose shared love of Alaska and its natural bounty inspired the creation of this family of sodas.
Alyssa, a lifelong Alaskan, grew up foraging the wild ingredients that define the state’s rugged landscape—from tart wild blueberries to fragrant spruce tips. Her years working behind the bars of Anchorage’s most well-known institutions allowed her to translate those wild flavors into balanced, expressive creations, giving her a unique perspective on how Alaska’s ingredients can shine in a glass.
David McCarthy, best known as the founder of 49th State Brewing and Northern Hospitality Group, brings a deep culinary and hospitality background to the brand. A classically trained chef with formal brewing education and a degree in restaurant and hotel management, he has spent his career exploring how technique, creativity, and quality ingredients can elevate everyday experiences. His expertise in flavor development, paired with Alyssa’s intimate knowledge of Alaska’s wild pantry, forms the backbone of the Frontier Alaska Soda ethos.
